FCGKD5K was borne out of little more than the desire to do something silly.
In that respect, it succeeded with flying colors (hopping greyscale?) The existence
of multiple versions can be attributed to an idea David had, after seeing the original
art (sans panel borders and text) for the five strips. It was decided that each one of
us would fill in the strips with our own dialogue. Very rarely do the normal strips feature
jokes that are written by only one of us, and an exercise like this gives the reader a
good sense of what each of our individual tones and styles are like.*
